Ryan Thomas Bridges

Born on January 13, 1984 in Charlotte to Mark and Margaret (Maffett) Bridges, Ryan was a lifelong Charlotte resident and attended West Mecklenburg High School. Ryan worked in the construction business as a skilled carpenter for most of his life.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Ryan will remember his distinctive, boisterous laugh, his fun-loving spirit, and how he cared deeply for his family and friends. In his free time, Ryan loved spending time with his son – his whole world. They often enjoyed kayaking, bowling, and watching movies together. Ryan was also an avid Clemson and Carolina Panthers football fan and loved spending time outdoors fishing, golfing, playing disc golf, and spending time on the water.

Those left to remember Ryan include his 14 year old son, Kaleb Bridges; his parents, Mark and Margaret Bridges; his sister, Angela Maynard and her husband Chris; his nieces and nephews, Dylan Maynard, Gavin Maynard, and Grace Maynard; his maternal grandfather, Sidney G. Maffett, Sr.; as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Maffett; and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Doris Bridges.

At this time, there will be no public services. The family will honor Ryan privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or other condolences, the family is requesting donations be made in Ryan’s honor to the Trust of Kaleb William Bridges. Donations will be used to support Kaleb’s future. Donations can be made in two ways:
