Sandra Bennick Faulkner

Sandra Bennick Faulkner, 78, of Charlotte, died Monday, January 2, 2012, at Sharon Towers in Charlotte. She was born January 1, 1934, the daughter of Edward and Signora (Hager) Bennick. Sandra played in the marching band and graduated from Central High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to A. Donald Faulkner on April 18, 1959. She was an inaugural member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Sandra loved music and enjoyed singing in the Oratorio Singers, Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church Choir, and Meyers Park Baptist Choir. She worked for First Union National Bank for many years before working and retiring with SunTrust Bank. She was an avid golfer, winning several ladies’ events including the Cedar Wood Country Club Ladies Championship in the mid-1980s. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Theodore Bennick, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, A. Donald Faulkner of Charlotte; nephew, Edward Charles Bennick of Kings Mountain, NC; and sister in-law, Therisa Keener of Linconton, NC.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 3307 Rea Road, Charlotte, NC, 28226. In lieu of the flowers, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church or Sharon Towers, 5100 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC, 28210.
