Scott was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Orlando, Florida. He later moved to North Carolina to attend college. After graduating Cum Laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science, Scott moved to Charlotte, NC where he taught second grade for two years at Starmount Elementary School.
Following his career in education, he became an airline pilot and flew for over twenty years. Scott worked for Atlantic Southeast Airlines and ExpressJet, as a Captain and Check Airman, and a First Officer with Spirit Airlines.
Scott met his wife, Catherine, in college and they were married for 27 wonderful years. They enjoyed traveling the world together. In his spare time, Scott enjoyed gardening, cooking and working on home improvement projects. His quick wit and kind heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
