Shirley Keller

Charlotte - Mrs. Keller, 98, passed away on October 1, 2018. Shirley lived independently at the Dorchester in Pineville until her hospitalization a few weeks ago. She was born on December 26, 1919 in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Sam and Beatrice Gittsberg Goldstein; and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Liebstein and second husband, Jack Keller.

Mrs. Keller had a successful career on 5th Avenue in New York as a retail store manager. She was a very independent and strong willed woman. Shirley loved to knit and crochet sweaters, scarves and hats.

She is survived by her sons, Ben Liebstein (Margie) of Charlotte and Ralph Liebstein (Arlene) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Jerry Liebstein (Lili), Charonne Liebstein, Jackie Liebstein Barker, Michael Liebstein (Tina); great-grandchildren, Cameron and Hanna Barker, Gabriella Liebstein, Adiv, Yoni and Noah Liebstein and also survived by Bebe Liebstein.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in the chapel at Hebrew Cemetery, 1801 Statesville Ave., Charlotte.
