Shirley, born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, lived most of her life in Charlotte where she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and even great-great-grandmother. Shirley was an avid crafter, having created countless wreaths, floral arrangements, bread warmers, baby items, Barbie Doll clothes, and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Natalie Butler, Debbie Hyland and Judith Sorrells, as well as her eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel (Buddy) Savage and daughter, Beth Savage, as well as her eight siblings.
Viewing and visitation services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 1st at McEwen Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 3pm. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
