A graduate of Sun Valley School in Union County, she retired from Craftman Printing Company after numerous years of employment.
She was a member of Thrift United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene (Gerald) Hargett; grandsons, TJ (Amber) Hargett and Corey (Amy) Walters; along with three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Earl Francis Walters Jr.
