Sidney William Earp

Sidney William Earp, 97, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his home. He was born in Alexander County, NC and was the son of the late William Alexander and Laura Sowers Earp, and step-son of the late Essie B. Earp. He was married faithfully for 73 years to the late Helen Ellis Earp.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold W Earp, Roy Earp and Ray Earp; sister, Helen Earp Alexander and granddaughter, Joy E. McGraw.

Surviving are his son, Larry G. and wife, Carolyn U. Earp of Charlotte; grandson, Larry Earp, Jr. of Charlotte; granddaughter, Kathleen G. Earp and fiancé John Ormesher of Charlotte; brother, Charles A. and Dorothy Earp of Charlotte; sister, Ada Wiley, Lake Wylie, SC; great grandson, Morgan W. Earp of Charlotte, great granddaughter, Kaitlyn M. Earp of Charlotte; sister-in-law Virginia E. McClure of Lake Wylie, SC; brother-in-law M. L. Watts of Charlotte, NC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Earp was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he was a faithful member.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 17th at Mount Mourne Cemetery in Mooresville, NC with Dr. Gerald Bearden officiating.
