

Stanley Wade Perry, affectionately known as Pete, was born in Harlem, New York on May 5, 1955 to Nathaniel and Peggy Perry. His mother proceeded him in death in May 2003, and his father proceeded him in death in November 2007.
Pete served as a member of the U.S. military, more specifically, the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1975, during which time he earned his general education diploma in Lawton, Oklahoma.
On August 20, 1977, Pete married Trudy Moore, from this union of 33 years, came the birth of his daughters, Kahleeka “Nikkie” Perry (Nottingham, Maryland) and Stacey Perry (Charlotte, North Carolina). He is also survived by his daughter, Pleshette Caldwell (Charlotte, North Carolina).
Pete mastered many talents including extensive time spent as a certified automotive technician, fuel tanker driver, and more recently, a self-employed general contractor of Triple S Construction, in which he fulfilled his dream of becoming a small business owner.
Pete transitioned on Saturday morning, August 22, 2020, surrounded by love and loved ones, including lifelong friend, Cindy Pilgrim. He leaves behind three daughters; two grandsons, Lloyd Latta Jr. and Jayce Covington; one granddaughter, Nyaira Sherrod; four brothers, Nathaniel Perry, Mark Perry, Drew Perry and Lorne Perry (Tsahi); two sisters, Lorna Foster (James) and Marjorie Freeman (Donald); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are left in the wake to cherish his memory.
