Born January 9, 1975 in Jamaica, Queens, New York, he was the second oldest child of the late Sharman and Walter K. Howell. Stephan, who many called “Steph”, attended and graduated from Cardoza High School in Bayside Queens, NY.
Stephan, like his father, was a family man, handyman, and could fix almost anything, as it was his passion and gift from God. Stephan had a love for maps. He studied them with his father, as he had dreams of traveling to the states his father had visited as a truck driver.
Stephen never married, but considered his fiancée, Aisha Thomas, his best friend and the mother of his only child, as his wife in his heart.
His parents preceded him in death, as well as his sister, Tuara Howell.
Left to cherish his memory are his family: daughter, Sharnette Howell; his fiancée, Aisha Thomas; grandparents, Walter and Thelma Howell; uncle, Tony Howell; and his aunts, Sandra Howell, Linda Latorre and Kathleen Dortch; as well as his cousins, Angelica Dortch, Kristi Latorre, Michelle and Reggie Cox, Lorenzo Sanchez, Devin Howell, and Isaiah Howell.
Also surviving are his extended family, Emah Hadassah (Ma), Minister Prince Aleph and family, Shadora and Prince Isaiah Edwards, Chatella Smith, Simeon and Rosie Gordon, Josh and Dianna Edwards, Anissa Daise, JR Earl Thomas; and a host of family and friends.
Steph’s family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 11th at Harry & Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road in Charlotte. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the graveside in Oaklawn Cemetery.
