Steven Bernard Yandle entered into eternal rest on Saturday, 26 Jan 2013 at home. He was the son of the late Horace Brooks Yandle, Sr and Annie Belle [Anne] nee Carpenter. He was born in Charlotte, NC on 17 Feb 1948. He was married for 45 years to his college sweet-heart, the former Suzzette Greth.
After obtaining his Chemistry degree, he worked for the Charlotte based LUWA Corp, a chemical process equipment sales company. He first started as Test Engineer in the Pilot Plant, then did trouble shooting for the company, moved into inside sales, and later became Regional Sales Manager. In 1986 he and his family moved to Georgetown, TX to better service his vast sales territory - the southern states from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans, including the US west coast states, Mexico, Hawaii, and Canada. He enjoyed his work, especially coming up with creative solutions to complicated processing issues for his customers. Steve took his work seriously knowing his sales made a difference to those who worked for LUWA Corp. which later changed the company name to LCI Corp. He made the largest sale for LCI in the history of the company. Due to an unexpected medical condition in March 2000, Steve had to retire. Since then Steve has suffered and fought many physical conditions cheating death at least nine times. He spent years in physical therapy where he was known as the "come back kid". In 2002, he and his wife returned to NC to live in Boone, NC where he resided until his death.
While in Charlotte, Steve volunteered in the Boy Scouts as a Webelows Leader, then as Scout Master. Steve was a wonderful father to his three sons. He took them camping in the NC mountains and joined then through the ranks of Karate. He was a great provider to his family and passed on his diligent work ethic to his sons. Steve enjoyed baking pound cakes and smoking Texas BBQ brisket. He enjoyed attending with his wife Rennaissance Festivals, and the Gathering of the Clans in Salado, TX.
Surviving him is his wife Suzzette, sons: Shaun Christopher Yandle and Hans Tolan Yandle of Cumming, GA and Kyle Timothy Yandle of Grayson, GA; one brother Horace Brooks Yandle Jr and wife Madelyn of Miami, FL; sister-in-law Marti Frazier Crabtree and husband Larry of AL; brothers-in-law Paul J. Frazier Jr and wife Jane of MT and Michael A. Frazier Sr and wife Harriet of SC.
