Terence August Andre of Charlotte passed away on January 30, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on November 9, 1933 in Saginaw, MI to Paul and Bernice Andre. Terence graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, MI and Michigan State University where he received a BA degree in Business and an MBA. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Terence spent the majority of his career working for the General Electric Company joining the company in 1960. He had stops in Schenectady, NY; Bridgeport, CT and Avon, CT. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Charlotte where they resided for 20 some years until their passing.
Terence was an avid traveler who not only liked to go to faraway places but also plan said trips. Places he and his wife, Roberta, visited over the years included England, Scotland, France, Egypt, Greece, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, New Zealand, South Africa, Alaska and Japan.
He was also a voracious reader who particularly enjoyed reading military history. He and his wife were active bridge players who enjoyed both the social and competitive aspects of the game.
Terence is survived by his only son, Terence Jr. and his wife Kathleen, along with three grandchildren; Kyle, Corey and Kerri Andre of Destin FL; his sister-in-law, Clara and brother-in-law, Dr. William Keller of Salinas, CA; nephew, William Keller of Saratoga, CA and niece, Elizabeth See-Tho of New York City, NY.
Arrangements will be handled by McEwen Pineville Chapel at a private family ceremony.
