In the comfort of her earthly home, while surrounded by her husband and family, on June 28, 2024, Teresa (Terri) L. Pitman Graham, 68, of Charlotte, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For the past eight years, Terri fought bravely against ovarian cancer. With faith in her Lord Jesus Christ, boundless determination, and her wonderful sense of humor, she never gave up and never looked sick despite the disease’s debilitating effects.
Terri was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 29, 1955, to her loving parents Gene Pitman and Delores Martin Pitman. A lifelong Charlottean, she graduated from East Mecklenburg High School Class of 1974. Terri made her career in interior design earning a degree in Design & Merchandising, and subsequently working for Graham Enterprises as the Corporate Designer. She imparted her own distinctive touch of class and style to every project she undertook.
Terri and her loving, faithful husband Mel have been married for 38 years, and sweethearts since high school. They have been longtime members of Central Church of God, and formerly of Calvary Church. Terri was a strong Evangelical Christian and was a witness for Christ to many, even through the challenges of her last days.
Family and friends enjoyed many special occasions with Terri and Mel at their homes in Charlotte and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Terri brought life and joy to each event. In addition to her interior design, Terri was drawn to the outdoors and created spectacular gardens and flower arrangements at both Morrocroft Manor and Greystone. Terri also cherished animals and leaves behind her beloved cats Zak, Chloe, Gabby, and Coby.
Over the years, her support was vital in enabling Mel to participate in the Graham Family’s ministries, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, sharing God’s love and the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.
To her very last days, Terri loved and supported her wider family, including her mother Delores Pitman, sister Pam Pitman, brother Mike Pitman and nieces Emily Pitman, Elizabeth Pitman, and great nephew Henry LuQuire, brother- and sister-in-law Deryl and Nova Graham, niece Amy (Hatcher) Sneed, great niece Ella Grace Graham, and Bonnie Graham. Terri was predeceased by her father Gene Pitman and nephew Scott Graham.
On July 3, 2024, a lively celebration of God’s grace in the life of Terri will take place at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28270, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family in the church’s Family Life Center, Weatherby Hall. Attendees are encouraged to wear Terri’s favorite color of pink, or bright spring colors. For those unable to attend the service in-person, virtual attendance may be accessed by selecting the "Join Livestream" icon on the services section of the funeral home website. https://www.ssimeeting.com/terrigraham.
To honor Terri’s life, flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Central Church, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, or Samaritan’s Purse. McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel is handling the arrangements. There will be a private family graveside service.
