

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jones Edwards, Sr. and Frances Edwards of Rutherfordton, NC.
He is survived by his daughter, Nena Edwards Wilson; son-in-law, Robert C. Wilson, Jr.; grandson, Robert Corley Wilson III; granddaughter-in-law, Catherine U. Wilson; family friend, Jeannie Smith; and his three siblings, Robert Edwards, Peggy Jones, and Jane Rubinstein.
Tommy was born in Rutherfordton, NC, graduated from Central High School, and attended Guilford College, majoring in psychology. He served in the United States Marine Corp. rising to the rank of Corporal. While in the Marine Corp. he traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Caribbean.
Tommy was a talented watercolorist. He also had an eye for creating elaborate layouts for his extensive model railroad collection. He was a wonderful drummer, and he used that love of drumming to refurbish drums for several famous rock n roll drummers. He was featured in "Not So Modern Drummer" magazine as the drum doctor. His other talents extended to rock digging, handmade gem trees, wood carving and model shipbuilding.
He was a lover of all animals, in particular his two rescue cats, Patch and Running Bear.
Tommy was a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and brother.
A private scattering will be planned at a later date.
