

Terry was born in Wilmington, NC on October 5, 1930. He graduated from Gardner-Webb University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1955 after four years of service. He married Joan Beldon Jones in 1955 and had two sons, and they later divorced.
Terry was an avid golfer, and one of the first members of Carmel Country Club, winning numerous trophies, including paring the famous Saint Andrews Golf Course in Scotland. Terry owned and operated an Esso station from 1956-1967 next to Park Road Shopping Center, and later continued a prosperous career in sales. Terry loved the great outdoors, including fishing, boating, birding, and wildlife. Terry was a fun-loving guy that had a twinkle in his eye, and always managed to put a smile on everyone’s face.
He is survived by his children, Michael and Milton, their wives Lori and Karen; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Alexis; his sister-in-law, Marie Jones; his nieces and nephews Keith, Brian, Reid, Lou-Ann, and Julie and their wives and husbands.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Torrence and Estelle, and his brothers, Owen and Bobbie.
Visitation will be held at 825 Faircrest Dr., Charlotte, NC on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 6:30 pm. At a later date, there will be a Military interment at the Veterans Cemetery in Salisbury.
