Alyne was born November 21, 1946 in Forest City, NC. She was the daughter of the late Selby and Frances Keller. Alyne was a graduate of Queens College, Charlotte, NC, and held a bachelor’s degree in education.
Alyne taught high school English in Portsmouth, VA, where she met her husband, the late Lindon O. Alexander. Lindon and Alyne were married for 53 years. She was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Alyne is survived by her son, Peyton Claiborne Alexander “Clay”, daughter-in-law, Diane, of Rock Hill, SC and granddaughter, Katie and her husband Christopher Houchins, of Colorado Springs, CO.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC.
