Virginia P. Tate

Virginia Pruett Tate, age 96 of Mt. Holly, NC passed away peacefully at her residence December 8, 2011. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00PM Saturday December 10th in Forest Lawn West Funeral Home Chapel in Charlotte, Reverend Jason Marlowe officiating . Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tate was born April 8, 1915 in Huntersville, N. C. and was the daughter of the late William Crawford and Lottie Christenbury Pruett. Surviving are daughters, Margaret McQueen and Glenda Tate of Mt. Holly, NC, Judy Benton of Georgia, Betty Looman of Davidson, NC, and Barbara Shepppard of Atlanta , Ga., sons, Virgil Tate of Rockingham, NC, James Tate of Gastonia, NC, Charles E. Tate and Jackie Tate of Mt. Holly, NC, 14 grand,26 great, and several great-great grandchildren and her “adopted” daughter, Bernice Strohl and beloved cat, Molly. Mrs. Tate preceded in death by her husband, George E. Tate and a son Billy R. Tate, grandsons, David McQueen, Marvin Tate, and granddaughter, Renee Boch.
