Walter Alan Sypniewski, 22, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He grew up in Charlotte, NC and was a member of Boy Scout Troup 174 where he received his Eagle Scout badge. He worked several summers at Camp Grimes and with the Mecklenburg County Council on furthering the scouting community in Charlotte. In his free time he enjoyed playing tennis, backpacking, and fishing.
Walter is survived by his parents John and Sharon Sypniewski, his brother JP, his grandmother Betty Sypniewski, and his grandfather Wade Rinehart. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 4pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 where the family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mecklenburg County Council of the Boy Scouts of America for the Camp Grimes Dining Hall, at 1410 East 7th St, Charlotte, NC, 28204.
