Wanda Brantley Sykes

Wanda graduated from Central High School in Charlotte and Mars Hill College. She retired after working over 30 years at Belk Store Services and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Wanda truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to laugh, always had a smile to give and loved to share stories of her favorite memories for everyone to enjoy. Wanda was a lifelong friend to many and will be missed greatly.

She is preceded in death by husbands Cecil Brantley and George Sykes.

Wanda is survived by her children: Dawn Brantley, Scott Brantley, Mike (Kathie) Brantley and April (Henry)Burnette; grandchildren Barclay (Melissa) Brantley, Ashley (Mark) Rufty, Krystin (Tony) Slagle, Chris (Sarah) Charles, Katie (Hunter) Chapman, Jonathan Brantley, Chase (Sydney) Burnette, Blake (Sara) Burnette and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte on Monday, August 27th 2018 with a visitation at 1pm followed by a 2pm funeral service. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Sharon Memorial Park.
