William C. Johnston

Mr. Johnston, 88, of 8919 Park Road, Charlotte, NC entered his eternal home on Thursday, November 22, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Providence Baptist Church, 4921 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will be held prior to the service.

He was born on October 19, 1924, in Mooresville, NC, to the late Henry Elmer Johnson and Julia Johnston. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was retired from the company he started, W.C. Johnston & Associates. After retirement, he worked part time for Charlotte Glass. He served during World War II in the Army Air Force as a Sergeant major and was honorably discharged in April 1946.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Myrline Hicks Johnston; his son, Greg Johnston (Marie) of Columbia, SC; his daughter, Cindi Johnston-Craddock (Gary) of Fort Mill, SC; his son, Joel Johnston of Asheville, NC; sister, Mildred Morse of Mooresville, NC; his five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald E. Johnston.
