Worth was born in Rutherford County N.C. on September 14th,
1934. He was the son of the late Phillip and Gertrude Searcy. Worth
graduated from Lake Lure High School and Kings College in Charlotte
before entering the Navy where he served his country from 1953 to
1959. After the Navy, he worked his entire career with Eastman Kodak
company. Worth loved to travel with his late wife, Lovenia of 61 years
to many states and countries. He enjoyed spending time at his home
in Lake Lure. Worth cherished the times with his wife, family and
friends.
Worth is survived by his sons Daylon Searcy and wife, Jenny;
Darren Searcy and wife, Carla; daughter, Sherrie Searcy; grandsons,
Josh Searcy and wife, Martina; Matt Searcy and wife, Halea; Cody
Howard and wife, Haileigh; great granddaughters Emery, Isla,
Everleigh, with Eleanor and Ava arriving later this year, and a great
grandson, Bentley. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Teno,
Martha Holden, and Myra Moore.
In addition to his wife Lovenia, and his parents, Worth was
preceded in death by brothers Howard Searcy, and Phillip Jr. Searcy.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday
August 30th, 2024 at Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation
Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, N.C. Funeral service to
follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Justin Driver officiating. Burial in Forest
Lawn West Cemetery.
