Albert Russell Dameron

Albert Russell Dameron, 89, of Charlottesville, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on June 21, 1926 to the late Harry B. and Cora Bean Dameron in Faber, VA. Russell honorably served in the US Navy during WWII, and he worked in manufacturing at Comdial before his retirement. He was a long-time member of Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, and he greatly valued both his family and his church family alike. He was one of fourteen children, all but six of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by four sisters: Oneida Zavoral and husband Dale, Betty Toms and husband Emory, Kathryn Saunders and husband Carl, and Peggy Lawrence; two brothers: Clyde Dameron and wife Millie, James Dameron and wife Joice; and a great many, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville from 6-7 PM. The funeral service will be conducted 1 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the funeral home with a burial to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Russell’s name to Rock Spring United Methodist Church at 1655 Rock Spring Rd, Faber, VA 22938.
