Daniel Jacob “MinPin” Rasnake, of Rockfish, was taken from us tragically on December 30, 2015 in a hit and run accident. Born December 10, 1994, he was the son of Jeffrey Leon Rasnake, Sr. and Debra Sprouse Rasnake. In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Leon Rasnake, Jr. and his wife Rachael; step-grandmother, Shelby Rasnake; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Rosalind Sprouse, Mary Lee Smith, and Leon Rasnake; great grandmother, Mary B. Duty; and great uncle, William “Tex” Sadler. Daniel graduated from Nelson High School in 2013. He was currently employed at The Monroe Institute in Nelson County. Daniel had just turned 21. He was an outgoing, loving, fun to be around young man. He had a huge heart and loved making people laugh. He was so kind and generous. Daniel enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, skateboarding, music, jeeps, video games and movies. He played baseball at Cove Creek, participated in two Guatemala Mission trips, performed drama and musicals in high school (Hairspray and Anything Goes). Daniel set out to do his best at any task and wanted to make everyone proud. Daniel lived a full life while with us, traveling on family vacations to the beach, west coast and other places, long walks and talks, being with all his friends and co-workers. He was always absorbing what was around him and wanting to grow and learn. He had so much ahead of him searching for his rainbow. We are blessed and proud to have had Daniel as our son for the short time we did. He was an awesome young man that we learned and grew from. We would tell him that he was an old soul in a young body. Our lives will forever be changed without seeing your smile. We love and will forever miss you. One day we will hopefully understand why you were taken from us too soon. We lost a Gem – Love ya Bunches! The family would like to give special thanks for all of the calls, food and support during this difficult time. A true testimony of just how many people Daniel touched. We are humbled. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Teague Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Teague Chapel with Reverend Stephen Wilson and Pastor Harland “Chubby” Sykes officiating. Interment will follow at Alberene Cemetery. If one desires to make a donation in Daniel’s memory, please do so to your favorite charity.
