Melvin is survived by his brother, Gerald (Carolyn) Knight; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 63 years, Sylvia and his sister Virginia Uzzelle.
He has a lot of loving family, and will be sorely missed.
A Graveside service will be on Thursday April 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery 1701 Chesapeake St., Charlottesville, VA 22902.
