Frances Caroline Maynard

Frances Caroline Maynard, 79, of Earlysville, VA, passed away on December 1, 2018. Fran was born on July 27, 1939, in Omar, WV, to the late Alexander James and Frances Plott White. For over a decade, she was a Cafeteria Manager at Hollymead and Greer Elementary Schools. Following her retirement, she loved nothing more than spending time with her family and helping to raise her grandchildren. They were her world. Fran, also known as "Maw," showed her family how to love each other, and was the ultimate example of family dedication. She was immensely proud of them, and yet remained humble herself. Fran never missed her children or grandchildren's events, including sporting events, concerts, and everything in between. She was a great cook, and loved walking, dancing, and traveling. Fran always had a smile, kind words, and time to give each and every person with whom she interacted. She never met a stranger, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Fran is survived by her husband, the love of her life, for over 61 years, Darrell Maynard; sons, Gregory Maynard (Kimball), Darren Maynard (Kathy), and Michael Maynard (Meagan); daughter, Katrina Maynard (Stephen Northcott); grandchildren, Brett (Olivia), Drew (Brittany), Nick, Erika, Tessa, Kara, Jake, Chase, Jensen, Logan, Kirsten, Keaton, Kaley, Riley, and Addey; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Reese, Lucius, Ella, and Laine; brother Charles White (Joanne); sister Judy Myers; sisters-in-law, Jean and Jane Maynard; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends George and Pat Walker, and Alice Dunbar. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 10am, at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Ruckersville. A graveside service will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 6-8pm, at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville.
