
Frankie Junius White died Sunday December 6th at the Hospice House on Park Street, Charlottesville. Frankie was born May 11th 1947 in Dresden Tennessee on mother’s day to the late William Junius White and Laurene Sommerville White. He is survived by his mother Laurene of Sharon, Tennessee, his wife Sandra and his two daughters Jan and Shena, one step-daughter, Paige and her fiancé Jamie, one step-son Randy and six grandchildren, two sisters Allie and her husband Johnny of Sharon, Tennessee and Laura of Martin, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Frankie had lots of hobbies, but his favorites were hunting and racing. Frankie was a 1965 graduate of Dresden High School, and soon after was drafted into the Army, he served his time in Vietnam. He was a former employee of Centel Telephone Company from 1972 until retirement in 2009 as their senior engineer. Soon after retirement he became ill and fought a long and very brave battle. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Emily Couric Cancer Center with special thanks to Dr. Geoffrey Weiss for his care of Frankie from the beginning. We would also like to thank the Hospice House Staff for all their kindness and help, with special thanks to Amy Dudley, his home healthcare nurse for her care of him.
