Gilbert Franklin Scruggs, 80, of Keswick, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his home. Born August 24, 1934 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late John Wesley Scruggs and Lillian Ford Scruggs Parden. Mr. Scruggs was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. He is survived by his daughters, Connie Lilly and her husband Dennis, Sheila Scruggs Gardner and her husband Timmy and Vicki Lynn Scruggs; one sister, Jean Booker; a special devoted friend, Connie Critzer; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; his donkey Jack; and friends to numerous to mention. A memorial service will be conducted 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Teague Chapel with Pastor John Faulknier officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. An interment service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Holly Memorial Gardens.
