

Ginger was preceeded in death by her parents Gibson W. "Tex" Hogue and Helen J. Morris Hogue. Paternal grandparents Charles and Cordie Hogue Shull, Maternal grandparents Luther and Loney Lee Morris. A sister Lily B. "Bonnie" Powell and two brothers-in-law David C. "Clint" Houchens and William "Bill" West.
Ginger was survived by two loving and caring sisters Loney M. "Lulu" Houchens and Lorene A. "Jo" West of Crozet; a loving brother-in-law Robert L. "Bunny" Powell of Charlottesville; three devoted nephews Robert L. "Bob" Powell, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Charlottesville, Timothy D. "Tim" Morris and his wife Wanda of Gordonsville and Christopher W. "Chris" Morris and his wife Tiffanny of Harrisonburg; two great-nephews Caden W. Morris and Gabe Askeba of Harrisonburg; four loving grandchildren Alfred R. "Rudy" Proffitt, Jr., Amanda "Mo" Proffitt, Scarlett Bryan and Charlotte "Charlie" Wells all of Charlottesville; three great-grand children, who adored her, Lamont Proffitt of Charlottesville, Steven and Abbygail Bryan of Richmond; two special aunts Ruth "Sis" Shifflett of Palmyra and Lily "Peachie" Batten and her son Charles H. Batten of Dyke; three very dear friends Theresa "Polly" Pologruto of Mechanicsville, Donna Wells of Charlottesville and Jeffery Moneymaker of Gordonsville and numerous loving family and friends.
Ginger was very loving, kind hearted, always giving and helping others and devoted to her loved ones. She loved everything M&M's, reading, cooking, her dogs, playing her dragon games and being with family.
A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Church of the Brethren cemetery in Dyke, 1:00p.m.Thursday, January 3, 2019 with the Rev. C.C. Kurtz officiating. Teague Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Family express their sincerest gratitude for the loving care the MJH ICU care team gave to Ginger. We would also like to thank the Women's Committee at MJH for the beautiful hand-made shawl they gave to her, we will always cherish it.
In leiu of flowers the family request donations be made to the SPCA in memory of Ginger and her love for giving dogs a forever home.
