Herbert "Herb" E. Silvers

Herb Silvers, 77, of Charlottesville VA went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Edna Silvers and his brothers Tommy and Bill Silvers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Becky Silvers, his son Dan and his wife Sonija, his son Adam and his wife Kelly, his 3 grandchildren Drew, Lila and Cohen, and his sister Marsha and her husband Jack.

Herb was born September 8, 1945, in Kansas. He graduated from Hollywood High School in California 1963. He later attended Bob Jones University where he met the love of his life, Becky. Herb was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was selected first in his class of 800 at Fort Polk. Herb and Becky married in 1968 and moved to Charlottesville in 1972 where he attended UVa.

Herb's family meant everything to him. Spending time with his wife, sons and grandchildren was the joy of his life. He loved sports and loved rooting for UVa with his sons. He was a trusted advisor and friend to many. Above all, Herb was a loving husband and dedicated father who held his family first in his heart. His wisdom, love and humor will be missed forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 10 at 1:00 pm at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Rd., Charlottesville, VA 22903. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville.
