

Kathleen “Kat” Stokes Harris, 61, of Charlottesville, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at her home. Born September 18, 1953 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late James Alvin and Doris Bickers Stokes. Kat graduated from Lane High School in 1971 and attended Piedmont Virginia Community College. Throughout her working years, she was employed by the Daily Progress, Michie Company, LexisNexis, and Perrigo. She is survived by her husband, Buddy W. Harris; a son, Benjamin W. Harris and his wife Erin Leigh and their children Kingston Alexander Harris, Delaney Rose Harris, Lucian Mikael Harris and Kendrick Scott Harris; three sisters, Jackie Brockman of Gordonsville, Linda Stoneburner and Elaine Fewell, both of Charlottesville; and one brother, William Clark Stokes of Kents Store. A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the First Christian Church, 3285 Keswick Road, Keswick, VA 22947, with Mr. Frank Forehand officiating. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the Martha Jefferson Hospital Oncology Department for their four years of compassion, care and support.
