January 15, 1928 – February 24, 2022 (Age 94)
Ken Ogden, of Ruckersville, Virginia, went home to be with his Savior on February 24, 2022. His beloved wife of 72 years, Ruth, was by his side as he passed peacefully.
Ken was born to Les and Mary Ellen on January 15, 1928 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Ken met his wife Ruth in 1948 and married in June of 1949. They went on to have six children and are survived by Andy (Debbie) Ogden, Laura Hawkins, Diane (Ken) Burkhart, and Melissa (Rob) Liberatore. Children who have already passed are his firstborn, Kenny and his youngest, Robbie. Ken is also survived by twelve grandchildren who he dearly loved and spoiled; Michelle Meador, Jennifer Shepherd, Ally (Mike) Tippin; Melissa Hawkins; Brittany, Bekah and Matthew Liberatore; Courtney, Haley, Mackenzie and Zachary Ogden; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Ken’s sister, Sue Schultz also survives him along with numerous special extended family members.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Ken also loved creating and building woodworking projects, vegetable gardening, fishing and attending the many sporting events, concerts or programs which his grandchildren were involved. Ken had an unwavering faith in God, which he shared in a humble fashion with his church, Christian camp, neighbors and friends. Ken volunteered many hours, never expecting nor wanting praise or recognition. His character of honesty, selflessness, and acceptance of others was unwavering. He was the perfect definition of a gentleman.
Ken will be dearly missed. This world has lost a great man but heaven has gained a beautiful soul.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
