

On Tuesday, January 28, 2015, Peachy Ann Jeffries at the age of 83 became one of God's angels in Heaven. She was the eldest daughter of the late Henry and Hazel Lamb. She was born February 25, 1931, on South River in Greene County, Virginia, where she loved to walk the mountains.Peachy was a special lady who never missed spending time with her family on holidays and birthdays. She was known for her green thumb as she could get anything to grow into something beautiful just like she was.Peachy was predeceased by her husband, Wade Jeffries; her brothers, Malcolm Lamb, whom she took care of in his final days, and Willie Brown Lamb; and a brother-in-law, Hubert Shifflett. She was also predeceased by her sister, Dora Shifflett whom she loved to go to Charles Town with.She leaves behind her brother, James Lamb, whom she would fix cornbread every day and his friend, Patsy Treakle and their daughter, Jessica Lamb, whom she helped raise; her sisters, Betty Shifflett of Quinque, Lorene Shifflett and her husband, Bernard, of Stanardsville, Mary Paschall and her husband, Frank, of Barboursville; her sister-in-law, Ruth Lamb of Madison; and brother-in-law, Dosey Shifflett of Barboursville. She also leaves behind Missy Mills, Kenny Paschall, Jackie Smith-Shipp and their children, as she was more than just an aunt but more like their grandmother. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces.The family would like to thank Paul Brown who was a good friend that took care of Peachy and her place for so many years and Annie Mae Maddox for taking her to the Blue Grass Music in Stanardsville. The family would also like to thank Dr. Rob Pritchard who took care of her for 14 years during this long battle with ovarian cancer and for all the wonderful people at the Hospice House where her final days were spent.A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Teague Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Teague Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House, 501 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
