Richard loved UVA sports and he and Margaret had season tickets to the football and basketball games for many years and would even travel to see their Cavaliers play.
While working at Acme he was on the bowling, softball and golf teams. He loved to play sports, water ski, horseshoes, volleyball and had a great basketball shot for his sizes( nickname Short One). His favorite was golf, which he played as much as he could and wherever he could. He belonged to many golf clubs over the years including Swannanoa CC, Greene County CC, Staunton CC and Old Trail CC.
