Bob was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on January 27, 1928, a son of the late Ned Mawyer and Kate Puckett Mawyer.
Bob was a member of Lake Christian Church and retired from Flowers Bakery. Bob was a veteran of the Army and a member of the American Legion Post 2003.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Robert Mawyer Jr, and his wife Tracey Mawyer, of Staunton and Marty Mawyer and his wife Kathy Mawyer of Midlothian; two daughters Debra Brown and her husband the late Robert Brown of Staunton and Teresa Rittenhouse and her husband Michael Rittenhouse of Scottsville. Bob is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the American Legion Post 2003, 4321 James Madison Highway Fork Union, Virginia 23055.
