Rodney Williams

Rodney Williams, 51, died on January 13, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Originally from Alabama, through the foster care system, Rodney came to find his forever home with Bobby and Pat Whitesell in Ruckersville VA in 1978. Rodney graduated from the VA School for the Deaf and Blind in Staunton, VA in 1985 and was employed in a series of custodial positions in Charlottesville. Rodney was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. His smile and gentle spirit will be missed by family, friends and the deaf community. Rodney is survived by his parents and three sisters: Helen Evans, Judy Blakey and Beth Hershey. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to Derek and Lisa Bond and Karla Lesher for the counsel, love, care and friendship they provided to Rodney for many years. Funeral services will be held at Jefferson Park Baptist Church on Friday, January 29th at 1:00 with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating and Glenda Atkins interpreting. The burial will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Family will receive friends at Teague Funeral Home on Thursday evening, the 21st, from 6:00-8:00. Teague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
