

Sandra Lee Fierst, 77, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of deep faith, kindness, and unwavering love for anyone she met.
Born on May 5, 1948, in Rector, Pennsylvania, Sandy was the daughter of Charles and Sadie Ankney. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister, Darlene Lehman, and niece, Charlotte Lehman Anderson.
Sandy is survived by her devoted daughter, Beth Ann Luellen of Ruckersville, Virginia, and her husband, Mark Luellen; her cherished granddaughters, Mia and Emme Luellen; her sister, Dottie Wood of Derry, Pennsylvania; her nieces, Becky Laich (Jayson Walter) of Midlothian, Virginia, and Rachel Lehman Noel (Craig Noel) of Derry, Pennsylvania; and, Beth’s father, John Fierst of Tionesta, Pennsylvania. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends across Western Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Sandy spent many years living in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, before moving to Louisa, Virginia, where she spent the last decade of her life. She was a graduate of Derry Area High School and worked in several manufacturing roles throughout her career, ultimately retiring from Mine Safety Appliances (MSA).
Faith was the cornerstone of Sandy’s life. She was a longtime and devoted member of Bible Baptist Church in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and later Heritage Baptist Church in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Since moving to Virginia, Sandy attended Colonial Baptist Church in Keswick, Virginia and truly loved her church family and friends. Her commitment to the Lord shaped how she lived each day—with humility, compassion, and a servant’s heart. She believed in giving others the benefit of the doubt, offering grace freely, and treating everyone with kindness and respect.
Above all, Sandy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was affectionately known as “Mamu,” a name that reflected the warmth and closeness she shared with her family. Her granddaughters, Mia and Emme, were the light of her life, and she took great joy in every moment spent with them.
Sandy will be remembered for her gentle but mischievous spirit, her quiet strength, and her deep and abiding faith. She lived her life as an example of love, patience, and compassion, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held at Colonial Baptist Church on Saturday April 04, at 3:00 p.m. with a brief visitation prior starting at 2:00 p.m. The church is located at: 4218 Richmond Road, Keswick, VA.
