

The good Lord has taken our little buddy peacefully from our home and now, he’s looking down on us with his angelic smile, for which he displayed often to let you know everything is okay. So many folks have helped to make Zach’s life better; in turn, he has touched a multitude of people to enrich their lives and warm their hearts. Zachary is now walking and laughing and singing with the angels. Zachary Thomas Mereen was born on September 16, 1999 to James and Carrie Miller Mereen in Charlottesville, Virginia and was proudly welcomed and cared for by his brother Christopher Mereen. Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather William Miller and his paternal grandfather Samuel Mereen. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Katherine Miller; paternal grandmother, Patricia Mereen; his aunts, Kathy Woodson, Margaret Job, Sue Clemmer, Marty Mereen, Nancy Mereen, and Lisa Miller; and his uncles, Barry Woodson, Tim Job, Danny Clemmer, Tom Mereen, J.P. Mereen, and Troy Miller. Zach is also survived by numerous loving cousins and friends. Zach was a tenth grade student at Monticello High School. He was cared for and loved by many teachers, therapists, students, and his aides. The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the Charlottesville Fire Department Engine 7, Albemarle County EMS, and the Albemarle County Police Department for their valiant efforts. A funeral service will be conducted 2:30pm Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church by Reverends Robert Lewis and Edward Hopkins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Teague Funeral Home. If anyone elects to make charitable contributions in Zachary's honor, please submit them to the research efforts of Children's Miracle Network.
