Caleb Andrew Hoover

Caleb was born August 6, 1981, in Dallas, TX, the son of Robert Joseph and Diane Lynn Sablotny Hoover. Caleb married Sarah Hoover on June 19, 2004. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2021. Caleb was also preceded in death by his mother, Diane Hoover.

Caleb was a self-taught musician, spending much of his life consuming, creating, and sharing his passion for music. He loved animals, philosophy, deep thinking, and pondering the possibilities of the unknown. Caleb had a penchant for dark humor that he rarely missed an opportunity to voice. He was deeply devoted to his loving wife Sarah, and their four children.

Caleb is survived by his wife, Melissa Jean Hughes, whom he married on May 18, 2022; children, Zoe, Lukas, Zenna, and Eva; stepchildren, Chevelle and Ashton; father, Robert; sisters, Amanda, Rachel, Andrea, Hannah, and Rebecca; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

A Memorial Gathering and Ceremony will be held from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.

The family will host friends for a luncheon from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Anchor Boat Club, 407 E. Lake Shore Drive, Springfield, IL.
