

Scott was born on February 11, 1958, in Elgin, IL, the son of Dale and H. Jeanette (Weddle) Kuntz. He married Christine Ebersole, his high school sweetheart, on September 22, 1979.
Scott graduated from Sterling High School, Class of 1976. He attended Saint Francis School of Nursing, earning his diploma in June 1979. He later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Nursing on December 14, 1990. He continued his education at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse-Administered Anesthesia on May 13, 1995.
Scott was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and spent many years working at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
He dedicated decades to volunteering with the Chatham Community Football League. In addition, Scott volunteered with the Glenwood High School Chain Gang from 1996 to 2021, supporting freshman through varsity football games.
Scott took great pride in his ‘69 Chevy Camaro, having spent many hours working on restoring it.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Jacqueline Ann Kuntz and Cheryl Lynn Kuntz.
He is survived by his wife, Christy; children, Meghan (Aaron) Hillebrandt and Bradley (Stephanie) Kuntz; grandchildren, Jackson and William Hillebrandt, and Hannah, Haley, & Brody Kuntz; sister, Linda (Larry) Kotowski; and many more family and friends. Also surviving is his beloved dog, Sampson.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering & Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home - Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, until the time of the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m., with J. Steven Smith officiating.
There will be a private inurnment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing Scholarship Fund- Peoria, Illinois, or Chatham Community Football League.
