Corliss Primavera, of East Harwich Ma, passed away on July 22, 2023 at the age of 71. Corliss grew up in a suburb of Washington DC, and lived many years near Boston, before retiring to Pleasant Bay in East Harwich to take care of her parents, Thomas and Jean (Nickerson) Primavera. She is survived by her brother Gary Primavera and his wife Christine, and nieces Stephanie and Kendra.
Corliss graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in 1974. She spent over 30 year as a Paralegal and in other challenging positions with the Enforcement Division of the Security and Exchange Commission.
She had many interests. Corliss was an avid gardener, loved to travel, particularly to Europe, and was an accomplished painter. After she relocated to Harwich, she became involved in a number of local community activities, including the Atwood House and the Harwich Historical Society, and served as a board member of the Friends of Pleasant Bay.
She was particularly proud of her Nickerson lineage, and lived on property that had been in the family since the 1600s.
Corliss is remembered by her many friends and family for her love of cats, which she always adopted from animal shelters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Friends of Pleasant Bay.
A Memorial gathering will be held at the family home on Pleasant Bay, located at 2259 Route 28 in Harwich, MA on Tuesday August the 22nd from 3-5 pm.
