Cynthia E. Doherty

“Cindy” (Sullivan)

Of Chatham, formerly of Easton and Dorchester, entered into eternal life on Monday June 26, 2017 at age 68 after a very difficult six year battle with cancer.

Cindy was born on September 21, 1948 and was the daughter of the late James M. & Claudia E. (Clark) Sullivan. Cindy is survived by her husband of 48 years Neil, her son Brendan and his wife Veronica of Greenville SC, her son Matthew of Portsmouth NH, and her daughter Courtney Orrange and her husband Brent of Littleton, CO. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Vietzke and her husband Mark of Sun City Center, FL, her granddaughter Brooklyn Orrange and her grandsons Samuel Orrange, Emilio and Mauricio Doherty, as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Cindy’s love of children led her to continue her education in her mid 40’s and she received her associates and undergraduate degrees and ultimately her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wheelock College. Cindy worked with children at risk and advocated for those who could not do so for themselves.

Relatives and friends are invited on Wednesday July 5, 2017 to the Nickerson Funeral Home 87 Crowell Road,

Chatham, MA from 4-7pm. A funeral service will follow on Thursday July 6, 2017 at 11 am at the Cape Cod Covenant Church 11 Satucket Road, Brewster, MA. A reception will be held immediately following the service at The Dennis Inn 25 Scarsdale Road, Dennis, MA. Burial will be private.
