Elisabeth Marie Lucy

Beloved daughter of William J. and Agnes M. Fitzgerald Snell of Lynn Massachusetts, Elisabeth was born in Hyannis MA and returned to live in Yarmouth in her later days.

She was a bright student at St Mary’s High School in Lynn before entering Salem State College in 1964 and shortly thereafter married Richard P Lucy of Melrose, MA. Elisabeth loved the outdoors and became an avid tennis player and golf enthusiast.

A true servant of God and community, she taught catechism and worked in nursing homes and gave her personal energies to brightening the minds and hearts of the broken. She was also a strong proponent of family and country and derived great joy from her three boys and six grandchildren.

She will be sorely missed by her son Jonathan M. Lucy of Chatham, MA, Richard P. and his wife Lisa Lucy of Chester NJ; Scott W. and his wife Hye Na Lucy of Westport, CT; and her six beloved grandchildren: William, Sam, Gracyn, Jackson, Benjamin, and Liam Lucy. Also left behind are two Snell brothers and their families including Richard J & Mary K of Newbury, NH and William J. & Joan of Wakefield, MA.

Her visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 5-8pm in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA. Her funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10 am held at Holy Redeemer Church, 57 Highland Avenue, Chatham, MA.
