Born in White Plains, NY to John G. and Beatrice (Kilgore) on January 31, 1924. Jacquie attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. After exploring several industries, she landed her dream job at J. Walter Thompson Advertising in New York City. Jacquie spent nine years at Thompson before a competitor, Needham, Harper, and Steers, stole her away. Two years later, Thompson offered her the prestigious position of Senior Vice President, Director of Human Resources and she rejoined the firm. She remained at Thompson for 9 more years before her retirement to her beloved Chatham, where she and her sister Sheila Treacy had vacationed for many years.
Jacquie was an excellent equestrian and tennis player throughout her life. In retirement, she discovered her hidden talent and love for painting and quickly built her reputation selling her work at the weekly art show in Chatham. However, it was her love of helping people and her charitable work that consumed most of her time. She worked with Elder Services, served as a Eucharistic Minister for her church, went food shopping for the homebound and helped others whenever she saw a need. Jacquie loved to stay active and fill her days with meaning.
She will be remembered for her deep Catholic faith, sharp mind, unrelenting strength, and her love of being with people.
Jacquie was so appreciative of all the help she received during her final years. She missed the independence that driving offered and was thankful for the rides to appointments, food shopping, and visits. However, the rides to Mass several times a week meant the world to her. Jacquie is survived by her cousins Lois Treacy, Sharon Driscoll, and Susan Smith, and her Godson John Faile. She was predeceased by her sister Sheila and her brother John M. Treacy.
Visiting hours for Jacquie will be held on January 20th from 9:30-10:30 AM, at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham; immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, MA-137, South Chatham. Interment is at Chatham Cemetery. Memorials in Jacquie’s name may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Redeemer Church, 57 Highland Avenue, Chatham MA 02633.
