Janet Gagliano

Janet Kimball Wood Gagliano passed away at Cape Cod Hospital on May 19, 2013 at the age of 74. Janet is predeceased by her mother, Edith Jenckes Wood, her father, Kenneth H. Wood, and her brothers, Gary and Douglas Wood.

Janet is survived by her adoring husband of 53 years, Joseph. They were married in Montclair, New Jersey on August 1, 1959. Janet is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Laura Nordstrom of Shrewsbury, MA and Lynne Gagliano of Richmond, England; her sons, Richard Gagliano of Gig Harbor, WA and Greg Gagliano of Westborough, MA; her grandchildren, Leslie and Erik Nordstrom, Thomas and Elizabeth Sweeney, Andrea and Joseph Gagliano and Jamie and Nikki Gagliano; her sister, Sally Wood-Marshi of Brentwood, CA; brother, Keith Wood of New Vernon, NJ; nieces, Gwendolyn Wisely and Rebecca Wood; and nephews Kyle Wood and Alex Marshi.

Janet was born in Staten Island, NY in 1938. She graduated from Montclair High School, NJ in 1955 and went on to earn her B.A. from Goucher College in 1959. In her early married life, she worked as an elementary school teacher and later became an independent management consultant.

Janet was passionate about her many interests, including gardening, painting, photography, travel, cooking and entertaining her friends and family. She was an active member of the Westborough Community Chorus and Players Club, served as President of the Chatham Garden Club, Secretary of the Friends of the Eldredge Public Library and was an active member of St. Christopher's Church in Chatham, MA. Above all, Janet valued family and friends and dedicated herself to enriching the lives of those closest to her.

A memorial visitation will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham, MA on Friday, May 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held in Janet's honor at St. Christopher's Church on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 am with Reverend Brian McGurk, Rector, presiding.
