

Born on August 16, 1942, at Cape Cod Hospital, Ken spent his entire life in the same Chatham home where he was raised by his parents. He attended Chatham schools and graduated from Barnstable Trade School.
Following graduation, Ken enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served as a Navy Seabee. His military service took him to many places, including California, Hawaii, and Cuba, but his favorite destination—and the one he spoke of most often—was Antarctica. Throughout his life, he remained an active and proud member of several United States Navy Seabee organizations.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Joseph Proctor and Catherine Proctor (O'Keeffe), and by his sister, Mary Louise Valle (Proctor).
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl Ann Proctor (Huskins), He leaves behind his children: Joanne Proctor and her wife, Cotton, of Key West, FL; Kerri Robinson (Proctor) of Yarmouth Port, MA; and Kenneth Proctor Jr. and his wife, Shelby (Young), of Chatham. His legacy is carried on by his grandchildren: Kesli Jones (McNally) of Manchester, CT; Kenneth Proctor III, Jessica Proctor, and John Proctor, all of Chatham; and Mia Robinson of Yarmouth Port. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Conor and Kelli Jones of Manchester, CT, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
A skilled builder Ken owned and operated Kenneth John Proctor & Son Builders. Ken was deeply devoted to his family and found immense happiness at the log cabin he built for them in Maine. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of the outdoors there, from hunting and picking apples to producing his own maple syrup. He truly valued the time spent with his loved ones, whether he was hosting a family cookout or visiting with his best friend, Gib (Gus).
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Liberty Commons for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Ken during his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, Massachusetts. Visitation will be held on June 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with interment immediately following at Union Cemetery, 998 Main Street, Chatham, Massachusetts.
