
Lawrence Raymond Rogers age 65 of Chatham Massachusetts died March 19th at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. Born in Holyoke Massachusetts to William McQuade and Jane (Urtel) McQuade in 1957, later to be adopted by Warren Rogers of Chatham. Larry was a loving father, son and grandfather. He lived most of his life on Cape Cod and grew up in Chatham. He was part of the first graduating class of Cape Cod Technical High School in 1976, where he studied Automotive Repair. Larry was a car enthusiast. His true passion was being a backyard mechanic, he loved working on classic cars. He started his career at the Eldredge Garage in Chatham, then went on to work at the Exxon Service Station and the Chatham Ford Dealership. He later went on to work at Nickerson State Park in Brewster. For seventeen years he dedicated himself to the upkeep and maintenance of the park which included the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Another passion of his was being a part of the Cape Cod Classic Car Club where he was a long time member. Larry looked forward to spending many weekends driving out in his truck and camper to the outer beach at Nauset where he spent time with friends and family. In his last few years he was fortunate enough to be able to build and live in his dream cabin in Fryeburg Maine. He was predeceased by his father William McQuade, mother Jane Rogers and sister Sandy McQuade. Larry is survived by his three children, grandchildren, brother Paul Rogers, father Warren Rogers and step mother Winifred Rogers. There will be a private celebration of his life which will be scheduled in the near future. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Larry’s name to The American Cancer Society.
