

It is with heavy hearts that we share our beloved Marylyn Ruth Norcross (Williams) has passed away after a long battle with Alzheimers. Marylyn was surrounded by her loving family when she passed on December 23, 2025. She was 83 years old. Born on March 21, 1942, Marylyn was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Mary (Bruce) Williams. She was also predeceased by her sister, Cheryl Dugas.
Marylyn was married for 49 years to the love of her life, Peter Allen Norcross, until his passing 13 years ago. Their life together included raising four daughters and travelling to sunny destinations with their favorite being Aruba. She graciously tagged along as Peter had a goal of visiting all 50 states which they accomplished in 1997. But their true love was the quaint town of Chatham. The marsh view from Huckleberry Hollow and the appreciation of what Chatham had to offer has transcended 5 generations. They made Chatham their permanent home in 2001. Marylyn and Peter were active for many years in the First United Methodist Church of Chatham. She was well known volunteer at the church thrift shop, provided baked goods for coffee hours, lobster role suppers, and served as a member of the church Board of Trustees.
Marylyn’s love of family was on full display as she hosted many holidays, Sunday dinners, and birthday celebrations.
Marylyn is survived by her daughters, Melynda McCarthy and her husband Dan McCarthy of South Yarmouth, Jennifer Mitchell and her husband William Mitchell Sr. of Plymouth, Kristin Doyle and her husband Jim Doyle of Dudley, and Kristelle Scanlon and her husband Brian Scanlon of Dudley.
Marylyn was affectionally known as “Minna” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had ten grandchildren: William ll, Brendan, James, Liam, Julianne, Grace, Ryan, Michael, Shawn, and Owen, and 8 great grandchildren; Hadley, Killian, Emilia, Eleanor, William lll, Theodore, and Mac.
The family is grateful for the loving care that was provided by Notre Dame Long Term Care facility in Worcester.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Chatham located at 569 Main Street, Chatham. A funeral service will begin immediately following at noontime.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association or the First United Methodist Church of Chatham.
