

Wayne V. Love, 68 died on November 22, 2013 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was born on September 1, 1945 to the late Walter and Natalie Love. Wayne was born in Weymouth but spent most of his childhood in Chatham. He served his Country with the Navy Seabees in Vietnam; after his discharge he worked for the Chatham Highway Department. In August of 1969, he joined the Chatham Police Department and retired as the First Deputy Chief in December of 2005. He was a Call Firefighter for the town of Chatham from 1967 to 1988.
Wayne especially enjoyed his time on North Beach, and was well liked and respected by many camp owners. He was proud of attending and graduating from the FBI National Academy, Quantico, VA in March of 1980. He was a member of St. Martins Lodge AF&AM. Wayne kept in touch with his retired Seabees and looked forward to their annual reunions. In retirement he loved playing with his extensive truck collection, working in his shop and evenings cuddling with Louise, his cat.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Ronnie of Dennis, his daughter Amanda Monahan, and granddaughter Maya of West Yarmouth, and his brother Alan V. Love of Chatham.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his uncle Eugene V. Love, and his sister Gail Reese.
A visitation will be held at Nickerson Funeral Home 87 Crowell Rd., Chatham, MA on Tuesday November 26, 2013 from 3–7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday November 27 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Chatham Police Association or to the Vietnam Veterans Association. Please enjoy every day and be kind to one another for Wayne.
