

Andrena was a graduate of Laura F Osborn High School in Detroit, Michigan where she graduated with honors as a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating, she attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Andrenas accepted Christ, at the age of ten, at Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Later in adulthood, she converted to Catholicism signifying a lifelong commitment to Christ and Catholic teachings. As a dedicated member of The Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Andrena was committed to service. She served as a Lector of Scriptures and Eucharistic Minister, as well as a distributor of communion during Sunday Mass. Andrena was also a member of the church’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Team, reflecting her strong beliefs in equal opportunity and dignity for all.
From an early age, Andrena was taught that one’s vote and voice matters. Her strong social beliefs led her to a life of service and deep commitment to empowering others. She worked on many successful political campaigns in Georgia and Minnesota. Andrena was the Vice Chair for Congressional District 4-DFL and was a 2024 Presidential Elector for the State of Minnesota, an honor that placed her name in the Library of Congress. She was one of the core members of Black Women Rising where she found community and offered support to others.
Andrena began her professional career with the American Cancer Society in the late 80s. In March 2000, she relocated to Minneapolis, which began a successful career in Information Technology. She excelled as an IT Specialist and throughout her career, she contributed her talents to organizations such as Best Buy, SunCountry Airlines, 3M, and Xcel Energy, all while earning the respect of colleagues and leadership.
Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many friends, church members as well as adopted nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Andrena is preceded in death by her father, William.
She leaves behind her mothers, Alice and Norma; sisters, Michelle, Monique and Stacie (Demetrius), brother Karonn; three nieces, five nephews, four great-nieces, two great-nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Franklin-Strickland Chapel, located at 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN, on February 13, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Inurnment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-East, Chattanooga, TN, on February 13, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.
