

Born in Dayton, Ohio on August 26, 1944 to Martha Threet and Stephens Terrell Barber , she attended Red Bank High School until her mother remarried J Mont Lyle who gave her a loving father figure. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and the University of Georgia.
She married William Warren Taylor and had two children, William Kirk Taylor and Shannon Lyle Taylor.
Returning to Chattanooga, Carol went to work at Provident and became a Senior Systems Analyst. She married John David Hudson in 1978 and added Beverly and John Jr., to the family. After a few years, she and John opened East Town Antique Mall which they ran successfully for many years.
Her passions included playing bridge, talking politics, making jewelry and taking care of her Westie’s
She is survived by her loving husband John D. Hudson, her son W. Kirk Taylor, daughter Shannon L. Gilliam, stepdaughter Beverly Wilson, stepson John D. Hudson Jr., and her grandchildren, Meredith Gilliam, Kylee Gilliam, Elinor Miller, Samuel Wilson, John D. Hudson III, Marian Hudson and great grandson Harlan Miller.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel.
Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
