Charlotte Evelyn Longley, age 84, of Collegedale passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 in a local health care facility. She was born October 14, 1927 in Chattanooga to the late Charles E. & Ester McGhee.
She was a member of Apison Baptist Church and was in various flower clubs. She enjoyed knitting and ceramics.
She is survived by her spouse, James Earl Longley; her children, Alicia (Kenneth) Wilson of Albertville, Alabama; Stephen Earl Longley, of Cleveland; and Candace (John) TeHennepe of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Greg (Laura) Glover of Jackson, Wyoming; Amy (David) Purdue of Nashville; Amanda DeFriese of Ooltewah; and Allison DeFriese of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Paul and Collis Purdue; and Ella and Seth Glover; sister, Dorothy McGhee of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Bob Dasal officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or the Kidney Foundation.
